5S is Japanese method of workplace operations that goes far beyond basic housekeeping. The first part of part of our discussion will be on the 5S methodology: Sort (Seiri 整理), Straighten (Seiton整頓), Shine (Seiso 清掃), Standardize (Seiketsu 清潔) and Sustain (Shitsuke躾). The second part of our discussion will be an interactive 5S group exercise involving commonly encountered environments. The last part our discussion involves a raffle in which you could be one of three lucky winners of a 5S pocket primer.

PMBOK versus Six SigmaHow is the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) applied to Six Sigma projects? The PMBOK utilizes 42 processes while Six Sigma practitioners utilize the DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) - a subset of the PMBOK. Elías Monréal will lead a discussion about which parts of the PMBOK are included in the DMAIC process, which ones are left out, and why.  This will reveal who is Project Management’s Deadliest Warrior!
